About Black Shore

A lighthouse for hard-to-place risks

Black Shore Insurance Group exists for the accounts the standard market turns away — and for the retail agents who refuse to turn their clients away with them.

Who we are

Black Shore Insurance Group is a Florida-licensed excess & surplus lines operation based in Weston, Florida — built from the ground up for one job: placing the risks the standard market turns away.

We sit between retail agents and the wholesale E&S marketplace, acting as the agent of record on every placement. That structure is deliberate: when Black Shore is the AOR, the responsibility for accurate applications, correct disclosures, proper surplus lines tax and stamping, and clean documentation rests with us — where it belongs — instead of being pushed back onto the retail agent's desk.

Everything we do is built around one promise: the agent's work ends at the submission. From that moment forward, Black Shore prepares the applications, markets the account to our wholesale market partners, assembles the proposal, runs the binding process, collects the premium, and services the policy.

How we operate

  • Florida E&S is our specialty — not a side desk. Coastal property, tough liability classes, and the placements that need a surplus lines specialist's judgment.
  • Speed is a discipline. Same-day intake review, application packages typically built the day they arrive, and certificates usually issued the day they're requested.
  • Every submission is presented properly. Each market partner receives a complete, individually prepared underwriting file — which is exactly why our quotes come back faster.
  • Compliance is non-negotiable. Surplus lines disclosures, terrorism elections, no-known-loss documentation, taxes and stamping — handled correctly on every single bind, without exception.
  • Nothing happens off the record. Every action on every account is documented and confirmed in writing.
The Name

Why the lighthouse?

Surplus lines is where risks go when the marked channels run out. A lighthouse doesn't calm the water — it makes hard water navigable. That's the job: clear signal, steady guidance, and safe passage for the accounts everyone else waved off.
